A swap is a fun event
to bring together people who love plants and gardening to share a good
time and their favorite plants. It's a chance to see old friends and make
new ones .Anyone who wants to share in the friendship is welcome.
Bring plants and
garden related items. If you don't have any of those, bring food.
There is plenty of
parking. You will need to drive onto the grass or dirt around the paved
areas and park nose in rather than parallel to make sure that everyone
can fit in. You will be able to swap from the back of your truck or car.
If you have special
plants that you're saving for someone or have swaps set up, please make
sure these are clearly marked in some way so that no one walks off with
them by accident. Please have all plants labeled ahead of time.
After we finish swapping,
we'll get together to chat and share food in and around the shelter. There
is a grill at the shelter and electricity but no refrigeration. Plates
and cups will be provided along with forks and spoons.
There are several
picnic tables around the park and in the shelter. The benches have stone
seats which can be chilly. You may want to bring a blanket or a cusion
or your own chair. There are huge trees and plenty of shade around the
park.
The swap will be
held in a Knox County park and shelter. No acoholic beverages are allowed.
Dogs on leashes are allowed. The park is a popular Disc Golf course if
anyone is interested in playing. There is an abundance of open grassy
areas for kids to run around on. And the park is right on the river.
