A swap is a fun event
to bring together people who love plants and gardening to share a good
time and their favorite plants. It's a chance to see old friends and make
new ones.
Anyone who wants
to share in the friendship is welcome. Bring plants and garden related
items. If you don't have any of those, bring food for the potluck lunch.
We will swap rain
or shine.
If you have special
plants that you're saving for someone or have swaps set up, please make
sure these are clearly marked in some way so that no one walks off with
them by accident. Please have all plants labeled ahead of time.
New Harvest Park
offers a chance to swap out of your car or truck, weather permitting.
You can back up to the sidewalk if you want, there's a very large flat
parking lot. If you want shade or it's raining, there's plenty of room
in the pavillion for everyone to unload there.
The pavillion and
the parking lot are in a flat area at the top of a rise. If you've been
there for the farmers' market, the swap will be at the opposite end of
the parking lot from where the market is held.
It's a Knox County
park and shelter. No alcoholic beverages are allowed. Dogs are allowed
but must be on leashes.
There are handicap
accessible bathrooms as well as picnic tables available. There is a great
playground for kids that includes a splash pad.
We have one firm
rule: no selling or advance orders or anything else of that nature. This
is a true swap and a chance to share with others.
